Michael Weneck

The Tusk table has walnut legs and top with cherry aprons. The Olive Oil Spiral is part of my Galaxy series of wall sculptures which are inspired by the Hubble telescope pictures. The wood is olive with a piece of soapstone in the center. The Red-Orange-Yellow (ROY) Sunflower is pine that has been sandblasted to get the texture (the high parts are the growth rings of the tree). After sandblasting the frame is dyed and then finished.

I create contemporary furniture, wall sculptures and other decorative items out of wood.
When the design calls for it stone and metal accents are used. Most of my current work contains
curved and shaped elements that draw the eye and create a sense of movement. My works are created
using mostly traditional woodworking and power carving techniques but I will use any technique
that will help me execute my ideas.

Laura Nelson Wells

by Laura Nelson Wells by Laura Nelson Wells by Laura Nelson Wells

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelors of fine Art. With an emphasis in Photography I had minimal exposure to painting. I worked for 3 years in photography for the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and loved being surrounded by art but was very happy to leave when I had my first child while at home with my now two little girls I have been thrilled to discover painting again. I have been studying under a fantastic impressionist, Fredrick Guess, in New Orleans. Painting has now become part of my passion for life.

Fire Tree 12x12 by Sheri Simpson Sheri Simpson

All of my art is done in oil on stretched gallery wrapped canvases. This means that there isn't a need to frame my art, as I also complete the edges.
I started painting seriously in 2007 and have really enjoyed getting my stuff out there, although it took me awhile. I've sold five paintings since January this year, and I have some of my work in the Galveston Art League Gallery. My inspiration stems from the fact that I want to please people.
