Artists Featured at Heights Art Market - Chosen From Over 100 Artists

HOUSTON, July 25, 2007 - The Heights is known for its high percentage of professional artists, yet only eight were chosen to participate in the popular Yale Street Arts Market on White Linen Night in the Heights on August 4. Covering all of the "Greater Heights" area as it has become known locally, artists Adine Rotman, Paule Hewitte, Jen and Mark Kresovsky, Cindy Babbitt, Aimi Dunn and Mark Roland all of the Heights, Susan Goettsche of First Ward and Christiane Waldron a resident of Rice Military will be featured artists at Yale Street Arts Market during White Linen Night in the Heights. The area artists were chosen from over 100 other artists that attend the art market throughout the year on the first Saturday for their unique styles and presentation of work.

The August 4 evening market is part of White Linen Night in the Heights, an annual neighborhood event focusing on art, culture and community. Art exhibits, live music and refreshments will be available all over the historic neighborhood from 6 p.m to 10 p.m. The Yale Street Arts Market is held on the first Saturday of each month and open summers in the evenings only through September, returning to daytime hours October through May. Original paintings, sculpture, ceramics and jewelry are presented by the artists under white canopied tents.

The arts market is located on the parking lot of Wind Water Asian Antiques Gallery at 548 W. 19th St. near many of the popular Heights restaurants and shops.
