Local Photographers Take Over The Heights Once Per Month, Showcase Work And Passion At Monthly Festival

Elaine Mesker-Garcia and Christine Tremoulet have both been chosen to be the featured artists

at the Heights Yale Street Arts Market. Both photographers, Mesker-Garcia of Jersey Village area and Tremoulet of

Spring, formed FreshPhotography.org in the fall of 2006 to share their love for photography with the world. As part of

the plan, the pair began attending festivals like the first Saturday event in the Heights. Now having attended regularly

for a year, this is the second time each has been chosen to be featured by the market.

Market coordinator Mitch Cohen says, "Christine and Elaine are what we are all about, finding your passion and

sharing it with others. They've been chosen as a pair to be featured because everything about them is professional: High

quality matted prints of their work, excellent booth display and a wonderful attitude. I see people return to their

booth each month!" Cohen also pointed out that its artists like Mesker-Garcia and Tremoulet that have been the drive to

keep the market going. Yale Street Arts Market will celebrate its fourth year next month.

Saturday February 2 is the next market and it is open year round on the first Saturday of the month, the mini art

festival in the Heights features a wide variety of fine art to fine craft, live music and refreshments. The arts market

is located on the parking lot of Wind Water Asian Antiques Gallery at 548 W. 19th St. and open only on the first

Saturday of each month, rain or shine year round. October thru May the hours are 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., June thru

September the market is open only in the evenings from 6 p.m to 10 p.m.
