IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Artists Never Take a Break In The Heights

Houston Heights, March 26, 2008 - Artists in the Heights never rest as the monthly Yale Street Arts Market continues April 5 for its second to last daytime show before the evening events kick off in June. The monthly mini arts festival, which continues through May during the daytime, is open evenings only during Houston's hot summers.

April will feature artist and potter John Delafield, who makes a wide range of wheel thrown stoneware pottery using rich earth tone clay and glazes designed for everyday use. Delafield can be found at the back of the market, near the "Olive Oil Guy." The featured musician is Tabitha Monet, an acoustical rock songwriter, singer and performer. Monet first performed at the art market three years ago and is now working on her second album.

The Yale Street Arts Market is open on the first Saturday of every month year round. Daytime hours from October thru May and evenings June thru September. The market is a member of the Houston Heights Associations' Heights 1st Saturday that provides a free luxury shuttle bus to visitors on the first Saturday for shopping convenience and a mini tour of the historic neighborhood. Open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday April 1 and May 3. Free admission and parking. The free shopping shuttle stops every half hour from Noon - 4:00 p.m. 548 W. 19th Street in the Houston Heights. 713-802-1213 www.YaleStreetMarket.com
